February's treats

January 31, 2020

As well as the tempting party rings chosen for this month's visual diary, we have plenty to delight you this month!

Wednesday 5th: Our Town explores where we can get to from Chippenham by bus or other public transport. Where's your nearest bus stop? Where does it go? Could (do) you manage your lifestyle without a car? You may be surprised! Meet at the Old Lane pub at 7.30pm.

Tuesday 11th: Book Club reviews the latest read, Birdcage Walk by Helen Dunmore. Meet at the Three Crowns pub at 7.30pm.

Wednesday 12th: *Fanfare* the Happy Hookers have their first meeting for all things crochet. Meet at Gill's at 7.30pm.

Monday 17th: Crafty Crew get ready for notebook making at this month's main meeting. Meet at Diane's at 7.30pm.

Why are you showing a green star on this date? Well, All Angels WI Kington St Michael are also holding a free Share the Love environmental meeting. Meet at their village hall at 8pm. Please email allangelswi@gmail.com to register your interest and ensure you get a seat and refreshments!

Wednesday 19th: Writing and Storytelling reveal their responses to the Story Cubes prompts. Meet at Wendy's at 7pm.

Saturday 22nd: Flexi Club. Join Sarah W for the NGS Snowdrop day at Lacock Abbey, admission £6 with all funds going to the NGS's good causes. Look out on Facebook or contact Sarah W re the arrangements.

Thursday 27th: Main meeting. Join the Crafty Crew for some useful notebook making using a traditional book binding craft. Don't forget your mug for tea/coffee time!

Friday 28th: Our Town/Creative Writing/Flexi Club mashup. Lots going on in town today and tomorrow for Chippenham's first Fringe February event. Meet Michelle for coffee at 10am at Grounded, then head out to explore Haiku poetry, Live Knitting and any other delights on offer!

Saturday 29th: Theatre Group are revisiting the Instant Wit improvisation show at The Cause at 7.30pm. This was very funny last year and is another Fringe February event. Tickets may be available via Rag & Bone Arts if you haven't asked Fiona P to get you one already.

Also look out for: news of Sally's proposed walk up Pen y Fan, happening either late this month or early March. Update: this is now pencilled in for Saturday March 7th, weather permitting!
