Things took an explosive turn at last night's John Aubrey Group meeting when Paul Hill demonstrated how rockets are propelled into space. It was an entertaining talk with plenty of mind boggling snippets and opportunities for audience participation, We benefited from Paul's experience of working with the European Space Agency and had an insider's view of various space voyages, including Tim Peake's!
Thanks to Pewsham WI for hosting such an informative and fun evening, rounded off nicely with plenty of refreshments and cake! April had the presence of mind to capture some of the key moments of the evening... and yes, that IS a real space suit :)
