October Meeting: Wings and Talons

We had a brilliant talk from Rob Evans of Wings and Talons in Lacock, who brought along three of his birds to meet us. Fred the lanner falcon kept his ability to fly at 150 mph well hidden, whilst Katy the little owl melted our hearts with her cute antics. Cleo the eagle owl was the grand finale, whose fine feathers were the softest to touch. Other October highlights were: Our Town's spooky walk discovering Chippenham's ghostly tales; the Crafty Crew trialled felted Christmas decorations ready for next month's meeting; there was a trip to see The Magic of Motown in Swindon; and Book Club reviewed Jess Ryder's The Good Sister. We were amazed by the explosive Rocket Science talk hosted by Pewsham WI for the John Aubrey Group, plus Sheila and Diane I raised a team to support Pewsham WI's fundraiser quiz evening and supper at the Consti Club. Last but not least, Sally and April wowed Wiltshire Federation's Annual Meeting with their technical skills and presentation on our WI!
