Book Club: The story so far...

Now is a good time to pause and reflect on what we've read so far. We've selected 16 books - both classic and contemporary fiction - from a wide variety of genres. Our top read was A Town Like Alice, closely followed by Rebecca and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Society. Other high scorers were The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry and Life after Life. Four books achieved a score of 7 out of 10: The Storyteller, The Boy Who Never Was, The Cuckoo's Calling (we also thoroughly enjoyed the TV adaptation), and The Paying Guests. Bringing up the rear - and still achieving scores between 5 and 6.5 out of 10 - were Gone Tomorrow, Persuasion, This House is Haunted, The Good Sister and The Rosie Project.

The eagle eyed amongst you will have spotted there are no scores available for A Christmas Carol (well received) and Five Quarters of the Orange (not so popular). A quick question on our Facebook Group revealed A Town Like Alice and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Society are still remembered with affection.
