We've had our noisiest evening yet, so loud we all had to wear earplugs! The White Horse Samba Band gave us a thoroughly entertaining evening with plenty of different instruments to explore and bang away on to get rid of all our stress and tension. From the biggest of drums to the jiggly tambas, we all ended up with huge smiles on our faces. Who knew tapping out Bob the Builder could be so much fun! Whistles and hand signals from the White Horse team ensured we kept with the beat throughout the session. I think our visitors from Lockside were impressed, so look out for a potential return visit to Pewsham in their future programme. In a packed month the Book Club found many plot holes in The Mistake, whilst the Creative Writers honed their tales with a twist skills. The Crafty Crew looked at what's needed for next month's origami butterfly session and had enough time left over to make some Roses for Rosie. We had our first walking cafe at Flexi Club, on a fog-filled then sunny day exploring the lanes around Allington and Kington St Michael. Folly Row cafe in KSM was declared a winner. Thirteen members also ventured out to Kington Langley for the John Aubrey Group meeting and were taken back in time to the 1950s and the advice on offer for housewives. I don't think we'll be using the beauty tips recommended in those days! The Flexi Club is set to return to Allington this weekend to sample the cakes on offer at Allington Grange's opening for the National Gardens Scheme. A cinema afternoon beckons on Saturday to see the film version of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which was thoroughly enjoyed by Book Club last year.
