Chill and Chat

June's midsummer group meeting turned out to have perfect weather for our picnic in the park - we couldn't have ordered better if we'd tried! Pimm's and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks were served to welcome everyone to Pewsham Park, the venue taking many members to parts of the estate they'd never been before. A host of outdoor games were on offer, but everyone preferred the opportunity to chill and chat instead. Sometimes that's all that's needed for a great evening. We've had several comments on how it was great to have the opportunity for a mental freshen up - something to keep in mind for the WI's new mental health resolution. June saw the Crafty Crew try their hand at glass painting, which was enjoyed by all. The Book Club reviewed Victoria Hislop's The Sunrise which had a more mixed reception. Our Town explored Maud Heath's Causeway both in and outside Chippenham on another perfect summer's evening. The Flexi Group had an enjoyable return to Grounded and also took part in a completely new activity, helping Michelle clear her allotment! We also delivered a number of Roses for Rosie which helped Springboard for their fundraiser at Castle Combe. We hear they raised a substantial sum on the day. Altogether another varied and enjoyable month in the life of Pewsham Belles.
