We have brilliant news this week of success for three of our members! Many congratulations go to Teresa, Pauline, and Michelle whose individual achievements are quite different and show what a wealth of talent we have in Pewsham Belles. Teresa was elected Chippenham's Deputy Mayor last week; a non-political role which is the gift of her fellow town councillors and comes with a chain of office alongside the special hat and gown she has to wear on civic occasions. Enjoy your year Teresa, and we look forward to welcoming you to meetings in 2020 when you'll be our Mayor! Pauline has previously represented her club, county, Wales and Great Britain in archery and has a new goal to add to her achievements this year. A successful weekend's competition saw her score enough points for it to be submitted as a British masters record (in this instance masters is for archers aged over 50). Fingers crossed it gets ratified Pauline, or you exceed the score during the rest of the season! Update June 2018: still waiting to hear about the British record, Pauline has had the official certificate to say it's a WORLD RECORD!!!! Michelle's blog Veg Plotting has risen up the rankings and is now rated 7th in the UK's Top 10 Garden Blogs. This is the 10th year her blog has been up there; amazing when there are so many good gardening blogs out thereto read. Michelle's blog isn't just about growing vegetables, but is a play on words which allows her to discuss anything which interests her or she's learned along her gardening path. She celebrated her success with a trip to Chelsea Flower Show on Press Day last week, where she was snapped on the top tier of the IKEA garden in the Great Pavilion. Well done ladies and here's to news of more success from our members!
