It was great to welcome new members Nancy and Sue P to Book Club this month where we met to discuss Slow Horses by Mick Herron. We had mixed reviews for this book, the number of 'did not finish' tells its own story. After a slow start and jumping between many characters it eventually got going if you stuck with it long enough. Since meeting a couple of late finishers confirmed it got better!
We scored this book 6.5 out of 10. Our next read is The Ladies #1 Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. Look out for announcements on how we're going to review this one in the current climate. Now the library's closed for the duration, rest assured that the fines system should be dropped for late returns. As we'll all be at home, possibly with more time for reading, it's worth looking back at our previous reads to see which ones scored highly. Add any which take your fancy to your reading list if you missed them first time round. Goodreads (Books scoring 8 out 10 or more)
