After a few technical issues the book club managed our first 'virtual' meeting in mid April. Once we eliminated the echo...echo...echo... we enjoyed a good catch-up and discussion about The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.
We had three people who didn't enjoy or finish the book but of those that finished and scored it the majority liked the easy writing style with each chapter almost a short story in its own right. An easy read was just the ticket for Lockdown. We scored this book 7 out of 10. The votes are in for our next set of reads. and we'll start with Phaedra Patrick's The Library of Lost and Found for May as this is on special offer on Kindle. Going forward, here are the other books on our list. The actual reading order will depend on availability:
Sleep by C.L. Taylor
Force of Nature by Jane Harper
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewel
Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield
