Aloha!

This month the Pewsham Belles were transported to Hawaii, just what we needed in the depths of winter.

We were treated to a taste of Hawaiian culture and dance. Rasheesha and the Desert Divas gave a demonstration of dance moves and explained the meaning of the movements. Each dance tells a story and they repeat it twice to make sure the meaning is understood.

We also learned that Aloha has a much deeper meaning than just 'Hello'. It's the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy, and also is the force that holds everything together.

The Belles joined in with a variety of interesting instrument and pompoms with many members also joining in with the dancing. We had a great evening and also welcomed many new potential members.
