The final part of being a virtual WI was smashed last Friday when our outgoing committee got together for a meal out. They had continued to meet virtually even when we'd gone back to in-person meetings last September. It was a lovely evening, with much joy and laughter amongst the feasting, though it also served to show them what they'd been missing over the past 2+ years.
The chosen venue was La Passione and unbeknownst to the other committee members it was once Sam's home when her parents were the landlord and landlady of the Little George pub. She found it a little strange to be there, but was soon reminiscing about what it had been like and how she'd met her husband Mark when she was on duty as a barmaid. Kay also remembered when it was the Bridge Brasserie, before its current incarnation as a busy Italian restaurant.
