2025 saw both our Crafty Crew and Happy Hooker groups enter a new era of making by trying some bring your own project meetings for the first time alongside their usual specific makes and techniques. They even hijacked August's meeting with a "Social Saturday" get together at Rivo Lounge open to all Belles. It's one that bears a repeat this year judging by its popularity.

The main focus for the Crafty Crew the past few months was the preparation needed for January's rag wreath making at the main WI meeting. Diane's fabric stash was plundered for this alongside other donations from Crew members. The fine results shown above speak for themselves and we look forward to hearing what the Crew will be get up to later this year.

The Happy Hookers have enjoyed several community based projects recently, with Caps for Courage and blanket making for Chippenham Cat Rescue continuing as longer term initiatives. During the summer they also made their regular donation to Yarndale's Worldwide Creative project and enjoyed exploring the variety of crochet mandala designs available. Eleven very different makes made their way to Yorkshire for display amongst the 400+ mandalas received. You can see all of the donations here and here's just one of the patterns Gill used for her contribution.

Spring will be with us soon and the plan is to make some fun 3D daffodils next month. How timely that Felicity is currently showing how to make them on the WI's new VIA learning hub!
