*Sings* The day we went to Devizes!
Four intrepid Belles set off for a Big Bus Trip on Saturday taking advantage of the current £2 flat single fare to escape Chippenham for the day and explore another Wiltshire town for a change. It was great just to meet at the allotted departure bay and time at the bus station and not have the hassle of arranging car shares, parking, petrol money etc etc.
Devizes put on its best show on a sunny spring day and we enjoyed plenty of morning coffee and cake; walks around town and to the bottom of Caen Hill flight; mooching around the wharf and shops (with Pins and Needles a particular highlight for the craft minded amongst us); topped off with lunch before boarding the bus back mid afternoon.
We particularly recommend the cafe at Caen Hill for coffee and cake, followed by lunch at The New Society on the Market Place - speedy service, generous delicious portions and piping hot!
