Frankenstein

The Book Club had a great turnout this month to discuss "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley. A few people found this one quite hard to get into because of the writing style, but most people still found it an interesting read, particularly considering the age of the author at the time of writing it and when it was written over two centuries ago.

We were amazed at how different the story was compared to all the iconic films and other productions it has inspired, and like many before us, thought Frankenstein was the name of the monster rather than its creator.

We scored this book 6.5 out of 10.

It was great to see everyone in person again and the conversation flowed well.

Our next book is "The Midnight Library" by Matt Haig and we'll meet on Tuesday 9th November at the Flying Monk.
