Happy Chicks

First up for the Happy Hookers this year was an Easter make and a return to making a creme egg cover in the form of a cute chick. The link to the pattern they used is here, which turns out to also link to the rabbit cover made last year, plus it has an additional option for a spring lamb.

Quite a few other patterns were shared prior to and just after the meeting. Gill made an alternative bunny at the meeting and shared a cute owl she made afterwards. Wendy has adapted several patterns from her amigurumi animal book (see photo). Other options - for Easter or spring in general - include:

We often get asked what our makes are used for. In this case the pattern's creator also has instructions on how to convert the Creme egg cover we made into a fun pencil or pen topper as an alternative.

Ahead of our autumn make Wendy has already completed the draught excluder she needs for her office. We knew that a photo would be enough for her to be able to create her own. She revealed the secret ingredient she used to give it some weight - chick peas! We hope it helps in this week's frosty weather Wendy.

Next up in March is a cupcake pin cushion - quite an apt coincidence seeing we have cupcake decorating for our next main meeting!
