Judging by our activities lately we Belles do like a good jaunt! And so it was towards the end of June when we got on board the coach for a day out at Stourhead. Not too far to travel, lots to see and do, and someone - probably April the organiser - ordered in a lovely day of sunshine. Bearing in mind how cool and rainy most of this year's been, sunshine AND warmth was quite a feat!
We loved the walk around the classic landscape and having the whole day, there was also plenty of time to visit the grand house and take in the exhibition telling the story of Stourhead's women, not forgetting tea and cake in the cafe afterwards. There may have been a cheeky ice cream or three too!
We were joined by some members from other local WIs, who judging by the feedback we've received also had a grand day out.
Thanks to April and the committee for organising another top trip for us. Where to next I wonder?
