Off to Londinium

Michelle Chapman reports:

I was delighted to represent four WIs - our Belles, Lockside, Marden Belles, and Pewsham - at the NFWI AM at the Royal Albert Hall recently. It was an amazing time and I felt like I could take on the world at the end of the day. Nafaz Azawi's speech (which had a rare standing ovation from this usually hard to please audience) was a particular highlight as was the public reaction when 4,500 women left the Hall and went over the road to the Albert Memorial to eat their lunch!

As the official delegate I was tasked with writing a report for my WIs which you can read here - lots of photos to give you a flavour of the day!

You can also view a recording of the meeting on MyWI.

Mel B also invited everyone to sign her petition asking for better training for family court officials with respect to domestic abuse. It's great to have an actionable item from our packed day, please join me in doing so.

There's also further reading from her and Nafaz Azawi which are both worthwhile and could be possible thoughtful choices for any book clubs out there.
