A return to The Flying Monk and fantasy novels this week as we discussed The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. We scored this book a surprising 7 out of 10 - surprising because many of us didn't expect to enjoy it as much as we did.
Look out for the theatrical version - we think it would work well, especially as it premiered at the National Theatre. There's lots of scope for puppetry along the lines of War Horse. It's due for a national tour when it finishes in the West End. It's also been optioned as a film currently with Tom Hanks as the producer.
Our next book is Miss Benson's Beetle by Rachel Joyce.
