The Wide Sargasso Sea

For our January book club we discussed the Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. Described as a prequel to Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre.

Unfortunately we found this one a difficult read, the writing style adding to the confused feeling of book.

It only managed a lowly score of 5 out of 10.

Unfortunately, we haven't got a volunteer to lead the group going forward. We have agreed that we will continue to meet on 2nd Tuesday of the month and will operate with a 'bring your own' style of discussion where members will bring along and share their currently reads with the rest of the group so we can continue to be introduced to new authors.
