May Meeting: First session with the Crafty Crew

May's meeting saw our Crafty Crew lead a session for the first time, introducing members to the art of needle felting. Wendy demonstrated there are several ways with wool! Everyone got a small felting kit plus enough materials to make a felt panda. Judging by the smiles all round, it was a hugely enjoyable session and members also showed off their individual creations on Facebook. Meet Pandora and Lula Belle of our new sub group, the Bamboo Belles! As well as leading the main group evening, the Crafty Crew had a go at paper cutting in their Monday session. The Book Club chose The Rosie Project by Graeme Simson this month with mixed reviews. Don't be surprised if this one becomes a film or TV series in the near future. The Unofficial Supper Club went Italian with their enjoyable meal at La Passione. We raised several teams for Wiltshire Federation's tricky Treasure Trail around Chippenham, which was hugely popular, with many WIs from Wiltshire and beyond in attendance on the day. We just missed out on the top three places, but came up trumps for the booby prize! A couple of members also tried their hand at bell ringing this month, another Wiltshire Federation event. We held our first major fundraiser, a quiz night with fish and chip supper at Charter School, raising over £250 in the process. We all learnt more about the WI, Chippenham, and Wiltshire's varied landmarks on the night!
