A project for the Crafty Crew

Knitting and bobble making were the latest crafts tackled by the Crafty Crew this month, combining them to make bobble hats for the appeal made by the RUH's maternity unit. The bobbles are colour coded (red, amber or green) to show how much attention the babies need, with red hatted babies needing the most. So far we have 24 hats to donate, with even more in the pipeline. Thanks to Pewsham Belles members - not just the Crafty Crew - who are getting involved. We're also making the tiniest of hats for Innocent's regular Big Knit smoothie campaign which supports Age UK. We've since discovered this has particular relevance for the WI, as a lot of the funds raised go towards Age UK's various projects aiming to alleviate loneliness. These knits are proving to be quick makes which use up those finicky last bits of wool and there are plenty of fun designs on the Big Knit website to suit all abilities. A great start to the year and celebrating the Crafty Crew's first birthday! We're due to return to paper crafting in February, and try our hand at quilling.
