Bags of fun

Writer: Michelle ChapmanMichelle Chapman

A small group of Happy Hookers met on Saturday, primarily for the chat and coffee, but also to make their latest project: a bag of their own choosing. Gill is making a gift bag like the ones shown last month, whilst Wendy is looking to adapt a tube she made previously into a small bag.

The only complete make we have to show this month so far is Michelle's string shopping bag, adapted from this pattern in terms of its sizing and with comfortable handles instead of a shoulder strap. She reports it was quick and easy to make and comfortably holds 4 pints of milk, a loaf, a bunch of bananas, plus a few other bits and bobs, so it'll be handy for the usual kind of top up shop she does at Lidl. The yarn she used was a chunky 100% cotton macrame cord from Aldi - bought originally for Crafty Crew which proved unsuitable for last year's leaves make. Great to find a fantastic alternative use for this yarn!
