New Year, New Notebook

Monday evening's Crafty Crew saw us exploring how notebook making could be adapted for February's group meeting. A few covers from Ginny's stash were used and everyone went home with a small notebook to call their own. Michelle also has a shopping list in hers for what's needed next month. She'll also write-up some instructions for the evening - which will be added to this post later. Everyone agreed the activity is good for upcycling used greetings cards in the absence of Ginny's stash and that the notebook cover could be reused again when it's been filled. Once the technique is learned everyone will have the means to ensure they'll always have a notebook to hand. The technique is part of the bookbinder's craft - if anyone has seen Little Women at the cinema since Christmas, the closing scenes shows a bookbinder making multiple notebooks without covers to sew together to create the book that Jo March (played by Saoirse Ronan) hugs to herself at the end.
