February Meeting: Take Note

This month the Crafty Crew showed us how to make notebooks using an old craft used for book making before today's modern printing methods. Detailed instructions were provided (take the link for your own copy), so no member need ever be short of a notebook again. It was a lovely social evening catching up with friends and getting to know our new members. Our refreshment crew Ann and Vicky also provided cake! Elsewhere this month Our Town met twice, firstly to look at Chippenham's bus provision and then had fun in the rain on Friday spotting the poetry, signs, postcards and live knitting for #FringeFeb. This was the first time this event was held, and we hope won't be the last. In the evening the Theatre Group enjoyed Instant Wit's improvised comedy, another Fringe event. The Happy Hookers met for the first time and this club is set to become a firm favourite with all crochet fans both beginner and experienced alike. They and many other members responded with enthusiasm to the Chippenham WI poppy project launched late in the month. Watch this space for further news. The Flexi Club enjoyed the snowdrop day at Lacock Abbey, but the book club were disappointed with their latest read, Birdcage Walk. The Creative Writers used Story Cubes for this month's prompts and found a return to fine form.
