It was a fab day for Our Town yesterday with plenty of sunshine for a relaxed coffee at Grounded followed by discovering the 6 items on the Art Outdoors trail in Monkton Park and then seeing them for real in the Museum. It was fab to have Gill join us for coffee as well as Ann, Diane and Sue taking in the whole experience.
Ann looked up the QR codes on the posters in the park and we were surprised to find there was a lot of information about the stately trees they were on or the view from the spot where we were standing. Well worth a try for yourselves - the posters will be there and in John Coles park until June 21st.
It was interesting how some of the art looked quite difference in the 'flesh' in the Museum and we had a lovely warm welcome from the staff. News hot off the press: workshops will recommence and the new programme will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
It looks like weekdays are better for Grounded than weekends from visits there so far as it's clear they're having some teething problems getting the service and food availability right on busier days now things are opening up. Despite reassurances we could pay at our table and individually, in reality it was quicker for us all to go indoors to settle our bills - just make sure you know your table number!
