We ventured out of the Community Centre for April's meeting when 14 Belles braved the walk to the canal at Pewsham lock for an evening of bat detecting along with two guides from Wiltshire Bat Group, Ilene and Phil. Having analysed the audio files, they confirmed with a high level of certainty that we had 7 bat species at the canal:

Brandt's

Daubenton's bat

Whiskered

Noctule

Brown-long eared

Common Pipistrelle

Soprano Pipistrelle

The Common and Soprano Pipistrelles were by far the most numerous bats.

If you would like more information about any of these bats, have a look at the Bat Conservation Trust's website, which is a fantastic resource for everything to do with UK bats: https://www.bats.org.uk/.

Thanks to Liz for the photos and to Jennie W for the report.
