Community Crochet Part II

The Happy Hookers completed their pennants for Yarndale and they're now winging their way to Yorkshire as this is typed, ready for their display towards the end of September. Everyone's happy with the final result and we won't let on about the sneaky pinning in place that was needed prior to sewing on some of the letters! Some of them did squirm around a little ;)

The following was added to the parcel prior to its send off:

"From Pewsham Belles WI with love

xxx

The Happy Hookers crochet group at Pewsham Belles WI in Chippenham are delighted to take part in Yarndale’s Worldwide Creative project for the second time this year.

Ann, Gill, Jennie, Jenny, Michelle, Pauline and Wendy are this year’s makers and we set ourselves the target of making 20 pennants to form our chosen words of Friend (because we are), Crochet (because that’s what we do in our group), and Skipton (because that’s where you and Yarndale are).

We’ve cheekily added an extra S to the Friend word as it was a group not solo effort. Feel free to use it elsewhere if needed. We’ve also made an extra 4 pennants (and an I ) for you to use as you wish – we guessed that blank ones will be used as spacers between the words.

We wish you well with the show and hope to join you some time."

As well as completing their Yarndale contributions, the latest Happy Hookers session saw them make a start on their blankets for Bath Cats and Dogs Home. More on this to come, along with news of their flower and flag contributions for next year's D Day Commemoration.
