What a fantastic Jubilee celebration we've had! As well as time spent with family and friends plus views of all the official celebrations broadcast on TV, Pewsham Belles also made sure they got the best out of the free events on offer in Chippenham. As you can see some of them became queens for the day in town on Saturday after being crowned with gifts from the Knatty Knitters!
First up was a lovely chilled Thursday afternoon in John Coles Park with the Mary Lou Revue performing on the bandstand. Their performance was cancelled for Fringe February, but was perfect for a sunny afternoon in the Park, with the addition of strawberries, cream, cakes and scones by way of refreshments!
Saturday was an Our Town get together for coffee at Sarah-Jayne's followed by
the chance to admire the pennants we'd made for the Museum's 'Joy of Community Bunting' project. We agreed it all looked very fine in the Yelde Hall's display and were delighted with our special mention in the Museum's introduction.
We then played 'Spot the Belle' as several had taken advantage of the pop-up photo booth earlier in the week as part of the '70 Years, 70 Faces' project. There are three for you to spot!
We finished a fine morning with the Civil War re-enactment group on parade in town. We look forward to seeing them again in July!
