Jingle Belles!

And boy did we have a party! Lots of Christmas jumpers and festive dressing up, classic party games, a raffle, quiz pub mats, a photo wall, and a groaning buffet table were the order of the day. Everyone was up for some fun in a Covid-safe way and simply wanted the chance to socialise after so little opportunity to do so this year.

Jenny said: "Thanks Kim and all the committee for all your hard work today and through the past year! You are all stars!" and Fiona ES added: "Thanks everyone for a fabulous evening and all the committee for the fantastic programme of events throughout the year!", echoed by Fiona P: "Thank you ladies for a fun festive evening and for holding us all together through a challenging year. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next year."

We had lots of food left over at the end, so we donated all the unopened packets to a local foodbank. We also had a present table for Wiltshire Federation's Christmas gift appeal, which Kim took along to Devizes afterwards.

The Committee served the food and drink, with Diane S proving to be the server par excellence!

Elsewhere this month the Crafty Crew made paper Christmas baubles and Book Club reviewed the menu at the Taj Mahal. Our Town learned about the life of Florence Hancock and the Happy Hookers chatted, ate mince pies and thought about some possible projects for 2022. The Theatre Club enjoyed the screening of Anything Goes at the Tivoli cinema and then proved their fitness with their scramble to catch the last train from Bath afterwards!

There's a festive postbox topper trail currently available around the town and look out for our traditional 'Get Unstuffed' walk at the end of the month.

NB Carolyne collects used stamps for the RNLI so be sure to save all yours from your Christmas post (with a 1cm margin all round please) and bring them along to the next meeting.
