Ten Pewsham Belles had a fab time in town on Saturday taking in all the Peacock Arts Trail has to offer this September. We were so busy chatting at Sarah Jayne's cafe that we completely forgot to take a group photo! The cafe customers and owner were great in making sure we had enough chairs to enjoy coffee and cake outside in the warm sunshine. The collage above shows just a small sample of the fun work the Knatty Knitters group have placed on the High Street. There are dozens more to see and Diane S says they cheer her up every time she looks out of her window at work!
We had great chats with various exhibitors and the owner of Refashion My Town who told us all about the work she's doing with schools and young folk in Chippenham. This was when we were doing the Window Trail. which was a great way of seeing some of the other exhibitors on the trail in other parts of Chippenham and beyond. Here you can see the work of Kathy Hutton in the window - several Belles have enjoyed her printmaking workshops in Yatton Keynell in previous years.
It was lovely to see Chippenham buzzing with visitors in the sunshine and with 70 or so local artists on display on the trail, the Our Town group thought there was an impressive amount of talent to explore.
UPDATE: Our attendance has been noted! Here's a lovely comment from Laura Graham May on the Chippenham ACE Facebook Group "Always lovely to see the dynamic Pewsham Belles. You're all so positive!! And you go to everything! x" Helen Osborne-Swan (the force behind the yarn bombing and Chippenham's window trail co-ordinator) added: "Glad to hear the ladies had a good time!" The yarnbombing collage has also been shared on the Peacock Arts Trail Facebook Page and Tze Ching Yeung from Refashion My Town said she loves them!
