Pilates for all


For July's main meeting we had a Pilates workout with Sheila Copeland of Sheila's Fitness and Wellbeing. As well as a great workout Sheila gave us a good mix of standing, seated, floor and resistance band work adapted to suit all abilities.


She also explained the importance of building and maintaining muscle and bone density as we matured and about keeping our sense of balance. Some of the exercises had quick and slow release versions and Sheila explained this was to ensure both our fast and slow twitch muscles were exercised. There was even some exercises for our pelvic floors!


All in all, it was an enjoyable and surprisingly relaxing session. It was great to see all attendees taking part. Sheila runs an extensive range of classes, you can find out more here.
