Poppy Thanks

VE Day 75 thank you certificate

As well as a starring role in the Gazette and Herald (see photo below), our poppy photos featured in Chippenham's official VE Day 75 video! As a result we have had this official thank you certificate via Mel Barnett from Chippenham Museum, who also adds: "I hope you will all have enjoyed watching our VE Day Community video. We certainly loved making it and working with you all. My apologies that some of your wonderful images didn’t make the final cut [all but 4 of ours made it!]. This was due to a combination of over full inboxes and an over long tribute. We have however saved all the images so they will form part of our permanent archive.

The video will provide a lasting tribute to all those who lived during WW2. It will also serve as a reminder of how we have all adapted so well to the current situation. We were so delighted with some of the innovative ways that our community groups provided content using often very new skills!

We now have well over 650 views of the video on You Tube but we would love even more people to see Chippenham’s tribute and to enjoy some of the great talent in our community. So, please share the video and your own segments. You might also wish to share the special certificate (attached above) which is provided as a ‘thank you’ from VEDay 75." You can see the full video here. The segment with our photos is right at the end so you might like to skip to that particular bit, which is here.
