The walking cafe

The walking cafe is go! We had a beautiful walk from Allington through quiet country lanes to Kington St Michael to meet for coffee and cake with our morning's non-walkers. As you can see we set out in gloomy fog, but our way back was in glorious spring sunshine.

Here's the map of our walk courtesy of Google Maps - the postcode shown in Kington St Michael marks the site of Folly Row Cafe, which is well worth a visit. We did a there and back again as the circular walk via the A350 would be a tad too dangerous! In Summary Start point: On the A420 opposite Allington Farm Shop Distance: About 5.2 miles Difficulty: Easy - mainly flat and quiet country roads Walk time: Around 2 to 3 hours (allowing for refreshment time!) Cafe: Folly Row Cafe in Kington St Michael at the half way point Update: Folly Row cafe closed in 2020, so we suggest the Jolly Huntsman pub as an alternative refreshment stop. Further update: the cafe has reopened with a new owner and name, Kington Cafe. Map: See above Alternative variations: There is the possibility of walking down the main street in Kington St Michael after refreshments and turning right after Stubbs Lane for a slight variation on the walk into the village (see map). Another cafe possibility is at Allington Farm Shop at the end of the walk. Members on Cepen Park North or close to Allington Farm Shop may choose to start the walk from their house. Parking (if needed): At Allington Farm Shop.
