The film of the book is a hit

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society proved to be as well loved by our dozen cinema goers as the book was in Book Club last year. Film reviews in the press have been mixed, as is often been the case with the more 'female oriented' films. ('scuse the sweeping generalisations here). It was good to ignore what they say and see for ourselves. We also proved The Astoria is open for business during its refurbishment. Here's to a 5-screen cinema and decent viewing times for the films we want to see in the future!
