Procrastination can be a wonderful thing! You may recall the Happy Hookers made lots of cat blankets last year destined for Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Well, they stayed in Michelle's craft room for many months until she spotted the following on the Knatty Knitters Facebook Page last week:
"I have a project for Knatty knitters....
Jean at Cat Rescue needs more cat blankets - preferably size 20" square...
Could anyone do these for her please? Any colours - xxx"
A quick look in the bag plus an email to Cat Rescue Chippenham and the blankets' revised destination was secured. 8 blankets of around 18 inches square, plus 3 much larger ones were pronounced purrrrrrfect when they were handed over to Jean at the weekend. We had a huge thumbs up from the Knatty Knitters' Helen too!
Jean is based in Monkton Park which where the group also meet at Gill's, so everything's come full circle. The blankets will go with their new cat owner when they're rehomed so they have something familiar to help them settle into their new home.
