The Happy Hookers went all Scandi on Saturday with their latest make in the shape of this cute gnome. There were quite a few new techniques to master, with multiple amigurumi parts to assemble and a tricky loop stitch for the beard. This also required using three lots of thread, which was quite fiddly plus the amount needed was a bit hit and miss in the absence of the video instructor's three separate balls of wool. Happily Gill and Sarah were on hand to guide everyone when needed. The key thing with amigurumi makes is to use a stitch marker and to keep counting!
However, once assembled, all is forgiven.
The video tutorial for this make is here. Note, a 3.5 mm hook and double knit wool was used by our Happy Hookers and the final result is around 5 inches high. There are written instructions available here, which makes a larger gnome of around 14.5 inches, though the pattern is broadly the same as the one seen in the video.
