Park Yoga came to Chippenham for August - at John Coles Park on Saturdays, so naturally we checked it out for an Our Town activity with a difference!
Several Belles were in attendance, though they're hard to spot amongst the hundred or so attendees in the above photo. We are there - honest! We found it a lovely way to start the weekend and those who'd tried yoga previously found the combination of yoga in a lovely spot was an even better experience with happiness and wellbeing staying with them all day.
Unlike the usual indoor yoga, attendees came from a much wider range of ages, genders and abilities, with the occasional sniffing dog thrown in for good measure! Kyla - the instructor - made sure there were plenty of options for the poses to suit complete beginners through to experienced practitioners with all kinds of bendiness in between. Those who went for several weeks found the poses were easier each time they went, and hence felt a great sense of achievement.
This was a taster set of sessions and we hope Park Yoga returns for a full season in 2023 (May to September), which will probably be held on a Sunday. It's a charity that provides free - donations are welcome - yoga sessions in various locations in the south, whilst ensuring the yoga instructors are paid fairly for their time. It's a fantastic idea!
Any Belle wishing to keep their yoga going into September should check out the above link. There are sessions available in Trowbridge with Kyla, or with other instructors in Bath, Devizes or Swindon.
