Tyger, tyger

The Boneyard Belles had a gentle Sunday morning stroll around the pretty town and river at Malmesbury before their exploration of the Abbey's graveyard. The hunt was on for the grave of Hannah Twynnoy, who was mauled to death by a tiger (or tyger) in 1703. Hers is a cautionary tale, as she had taken to teasing the tiger displayed at the local inn where she worked, until one day it broke free and mauled her to death. This gruesome end is marked by a poem on her grave, which the Belles could just make out on the day.

Carolyn took the group photo where several tiger faces can be seen [remarkably similar to the witches faces following the Hallowe'en quiz - Ed]

The obligatory tea, coffee and cake at a local cafe marked a suitable finish to a great morning.
