A host of purple crocuses

It was snowdrop day at Lacock Abbey today, though the purple crocuses held centre stage instead. William Henry Fox Talbot planted a few corms around 200 years ago and they have steadily multiplied into this glorious sight. They're earlier than usual this year owing to the recent warm weather. They'll be there for a few more days yet, so it's worth getting down there if you can. This was the latest Flexi Club venture, which also supported the NGS. If you're not a National Trust member, then snowdrop day is a good way of seeing if you like the Abbey. Entrance is much cheaper than usual and it supports a worthwhile cause.
